The Israelites conquer the land with only minor incident. God is faithful to his promises! Not one has failed. They all settle in, and each tribe is allotted their land. It's a dull bit of reading (like reading a map without pictures), but each word shows one truth: God keeps his promises! But then after Joshua and the elders of that generation die, Israel turns to other gods. God hands them over to oppressors, they cry out for rescue, God delivers them–wash, rinse, repeat! That's the story of the Book of Judges.
